NBAD Balance Check in UAE: 5 Reliable Methods for 2025

One of the first things that I needed to figure out when I reached the UAE on business occasions was the process through which I could check my salary. My company distributed to me an NBAD Ratibi card, and I always wondered every month: Have they deposited my salary in my bank account?

Though NBAD has now a part of the First Abu Dhabi Bank (FAB) for a long time, the majority of us still use the term NBAD balance check. Honestly, it is logical as thousands of workers, such as me, continue to use this card each and every month in order to verify their salary, pay their bills, or send money home.

When you read this, you probably want the same thing I wanted: a fast, easy way to check your NBAD balance without the stress. I have tried it all-SMS banking, FAB mobile ap,p and in this guide, I am going to share the steps it works in real life!

The Different Ways to Do an NBAD Balance Check

When I began to use my NBAD Ratibi card, I did not suspect there were such ways to check the balance. Over time, I tested them all, and this is what I found works best:

1. Using the FAB Mobile App

  • The fastest and most convenient option is the FAB mobile app with an internet connection and a smartphone.
  • Download it from the Google Play or App Store.
  • Register the Emirates ID and your card details.
  • After you log in, you see what your balance is, and you even have a mini statement.

  • I personally access the app when I need to check something other than the balance, such as whether a bill payment has been deducted.

  1. SMS Banking for a check

  • This is the most expedient approach to workers who do not necessarily have access to the internet.

  • Text BAL (space) the last 4 digits of your card number to 2121.
  • You will receive an SMS response to that showing how much credit you have in seconds.

This is what I used to count on most, particularly after payday, as it was stress-free and quick.

3. NBAD Balance Inquiry at ATMs

There is a traditional approach that is also the best.

  • Insert your NBAD/FAB Ratibi card into any FAB ATM
  • Enter Pin
  • Click on Select Balance Inquiry.

The advantage of it is that you can even print a receipt, which is useful in case you require evidence of balance.

4. Through FAB Online Banking

On the other hand, by using online banking, you can log in with a full FAB account, not just Ratibi, and see the balance. This can be particularly helpful with expats who have to manage savings or multiple accounts.

5. Customer Support

At the other end of the spectrum, when all the other methods fail, I have dialled the FAB helpline (600 52 5500) and used the menu option to enquire balance. It is also slower, but at times this is the only solution available to me, i.e., when my app login was blocked at one point due to the expired Emirates ID.

Common Issues I’ve Faced (And How I Fixed Them)

  • I have also had my problems with balance checks like other people:
  • No SMS reply: My mobile no was not plugged in correctly. This was repaired after updating with the bank, and the service is now working.

  • App login failed: This took place when my Emirates ID expired. After I renewed and updated it, all was well.
  • ATM error message: Not every ATM will accept Ratibi cards- finding a different one fixed it
  • Tips: In case you find one technique fails, it is not a matter of panic. Go with an alternative; there is no shortage of options.

Why Regular Balance Checks Are Important

It is not only a habit, but it requires checking my balance NBAD, in order to remain in control of my salary. Here is why I suggest doing it frequently:

Salary confirmation: you can be sure when your money is received.

Improved budgeting: You will not overspend since you will know the true balance.

Sound sleep: Rest/ sleep well since you planned the move of the money.

I do a balance check once a week: every other Friday after payday and the Thursday in the middle of the month, keeping track of spending.

Is NBAD Balance Check Safe?

  • I have always been concerned about safety wherever using apps and SMS. To me, as far as I follow some main keystones, it is safe:
  • You should not share your card number or SMS response with anybody.
  • Never leave the app logged in.
  • Do not tap on spam links or text messages pretending to be sent by FAB.

Final Thoughts

There are a few easy ways to check the balance of the NBAD Ratibi card in 2025. My experience itself is in my own experience

Detailed information can be found on the FAB mobile app.

Best are ATMs when it is required a written note is required.

Whichever approach to the art of understanding your balance you adopt, the bottom line is as follows: don’t allow guesswork to be your balance, check your balance frequently, and have control over your funds.
